You might think it’s hard to find a good butter chicken in this town – but you just haven’t looked hard enough. Tucked away in an unassuming strip of shops over in East Brisbane is Raj’s Palace, a hidden gem that just happens to have some of the best curries you’ll find in Brisbane, including a potato kofta dish that will have you addicted to their authentic Indian feeds.

Head in for a casual (and BYO!) dinner or grab some takeaway, you won’t be disappointed here. Start off with some classic flaky samosas filled with steaming spicy vegetables, and move onto flavoursome favourites like tandoori chicken, creamy beef korma and lamb vindaloo, all with a side of scrumptious garlic naan of course. Just make sure you order the malai kofta – fluffy balls of mashed potato are deep fried and served up in a creamy cashew sauce that will have you ditching your usual butter chicken for something a little different for once.

Finish it all off with sweet rosewater lassi and some gulab jamun – fried cottage cheese and condensed milk dumplings soaked in a cardamon sugar syrup – and you’ll be just about rolling home.
