Gauge
Gauge has built a significant name for itself since opening, regularly acknowledged as one of Brisbane's best.
Echoing its minimal and contemporary interiors, the food on offer is equally as impressive and well-designed – a black fermented garlic bread physically resembling burnt toast is not one to be missed, served with burnt butter and powdered burnt whole vanilla pod.
Wit a seafood-forward menu available for lunch on weekends, and dinner Wednesday-Saturday, expect seasonal plates like barbecued prawns with saltbush and lemon, mozzarella with roasted figs and burnt honey, and roast pork loin with dashi butter sauce and burnt apple.
On weekends, stop by for an out-of-the-ord breaky of rye flatbread with ox tongue pastrami, a fried egg, and horseradish or a fresh take on avo toast with seaweed, white bean, and basil.
