Gianni's Kitchen
Put your stretchy pants on and take your hangry selves to Newstead, because Gianni Greghini, owner of Gusto Da Gianni in Portside, has opened a second must-try Italian restaurant. With the kitchen run by none other than Michelin starred chef Rossano Tantulli, Italian eats couldn’t get any more authentic.
Featuring a deli come bakery come gelataria on one side and a trattoria-pizzeria on the other, Gianni’s Kitchen offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and take away, so you can stop by at any time. Traditional pizzas are fired up in the wood-fired oven, while pasta can be mixed and matched with sauces like their infamous ragu. Once you’re done stuffing yourself with carbs, prepare to loosen that belt strap a little more, and indulge in a lather of gelato and baked goods for dessert.
In the deli you’ll find an array of rare dried pastas, regional wines and other exotic goods sent over from Italy. But for a real treat, stop by on Mondays for all-you-can-eat pizza – always bound to be a good time.
