Late night street bites at Ling Ling’s

Sun goes down, Ling Ling’s goes off.

Filling the void that HEYA Bar left behind (RIP to a real one), Brisbane newcomer Ling Ling’s has brought the punchy street flavours of Asia’s hawker markets all the way to Brunswick St. Open from 5.30pm to late, Tuesday-Sunday, Ling Ling’s will welcome you with open arms whether you’re there for dinner, late night snacks, or a soup bowl cocktail. Yep – you read that correctly.

With a drinks menu boasting everything from energy drinks to shooters, beers and wine, the NSFW cocktail section is where things get really interesting, with yummies like Mango Sticky Rice – vanilla vodka with mango puree and cream, and Chai Felicia! – amaretto, chai tea, citrus and soda. Teapot cocktails are perfect for two to share, and the aforementioned soup bowl cocktails are ideal for the whole squad.

Food time! If you’re after something small, the all-night menu is full of classics like shallot pancakes, spring rolls and a variety of dumplings, as well as some jazzed-up eats like king prawn and scallop toast with black garlic, or the drool-worthy sweet chilli lime karaage chicken.

Bigger plates are available until 10pm, with the already iconic pineapple fried rice and bang bang lamb ribs taking centre stage. A nine-course banquet is on offer for just $45 a head and offers a range of Ling Ling’s best. For sweet-tooths, deep fried apple pie dumplings with mango ice cream, five spice coconut syrup and crushed nuts is a must-try, and is aptly named Happy Ending.

If you need us, you can find us with multiple baskets of dumplings, practicing our chopstick skills in preparation for the Emperor Kong’s Challenge… Smash 30 prawn and ginger dumplings in 2.5 minutes and you’ll be gifted with eternal glory, a photo on the wall of fame, and a $20 venue voucher. The dumplings are worth the regret you’ll feel tomorrow.

Late night eats, drinks, karaoke and happy endings await you at Ling Ling’s!
