Introducing La Costa: the brainchild of Aussie hospo heavyweights

Get ready to meet your summer sipping spot in 3, 2, 1...

The team behind Australia’s number-one bar Maybe Sammy has joined forces with the Salt Meats Cheese and Eterna gang for a bold new venture!

Taking over the space that was formerly Foresters Restaurant and Altitude Bar, La Costa is Fortitude Valley’s newest dining and drinking destination. The multi-level marvel on Brunswick street houses four venues inspired by the Italian coastline, with La Costa Bar and Cielo Rooftop recently opening its doors to the masses.

Paying homage to summertime in Italy, La Costa boasts all the sights, smells and flavours of the region, encouraging you to soak up la dolce vita. You’ll be in safe hands when it comes to sipping, with a menu designed by the award-winning Maybe Sammy team, who’ve not only been crowned Australia’s Best Bar Team, but the eleventh best bar in the world by World’s 50 Bars, 2020!

Expect classic cocktails, top-shelf spirits, Italian wine varietals and champagne alongside antipasto and share plates at the ground-level La Costa Bar, with live music and DJs rounding out the summery space. Upstairs at rooftop bar Cielo, you’ll be treated to cocktails, cocktails and more cocktails, with a food menu showcasing seafood–think kingfish ceviche with shaved fennel, grapefruit and dill, and octopus carpaccio with fried capers.

La Costa’s first two venues have opened shop, with a restaurant and wine bar set to open in late January. Stay tuned for more!

Keeping The G&G up to date with tasty tidbits requires a lot of lattes and espresso martinis, so we occasionally collaborate with local businesses we love, like this one. To see how we can help you out and to learn more about our food-crazy audience, head here.
