Hot new look: Riverland’s long-awaited return

Need a new go to? From post-work drinks to celebrations, this one will have you saying, “I know a place”...

After a $3.5 million dollar renovation, the waterfront restaurant revealed the best makeover Brisbane’s seen yet on Monday 22nd May. Located on Eagle Street Pier, the bar and kitchen returns as a 3-level venue with two brand new restaurant offerings and some amazing event spaces that should definitely be on your short-list for your next celebration.

Joining the likes of other classic Queenslander pubs upping their game thanks to Australian Venue Co, the transformation of the OG riverside deck will be sure to pull you in. Riverland now has three new impressive decks to choose from. The Sky Deck perches on top of one of their new sea container bars, giving you a ‘gram-worthy view. But if it’s a birthday shin-dig, the ultimate family get-together or anything in between, the new Promenade Deck will be a go-to.

Other offerings include their brand new live music stage and a mega screen for sporting events, sparking excitement in music lovers and sport fans alike. If you’re an audiophile, you’ll be happy to know the stage hosts acoustic musicians and DJs from Wednesday to Sunday every week.

In our opinion, these major revamps are almost as exciting as the food… almost. Riverland is boasting two new sea-container bars: The Queenslander and The Traveller.

A classic pub feast to satiate your cravings will not be hard to find at The Queenslander, but their new modern take is what has us excited. Think sticky chicken wings with a pineapple rum BBQ glaze or mango salad with crushed macadamia dressing.

If that’s not your vibe, The Traveller, their street-food bar, will offer a rotating menu to bring you a different global cuisine each time. At the moment, Mexico is where they’re taking us. One order of jalapeño poppers, please!

Don’t fret, we haven’t forgotten about the arguably just as important booze. Riverland’s new beverage menu will offer up fresh new cocktail and wine lists and a broad range of beers. So grab one of their spicy watermelon margaritas, a soft shell taco from The Traveller and enjoy the tunes on their Sky Deck, surrounded by the sunset hues over Brisbane River.
