This sun has set on yet again another winter in Brisbane. If you’ve emerged from your cocoon of flannelette pyjamas, doona covers, and toasty electric blankets as a social butterfly, we’ve got just the spot for you!
To help put a little spring in your step this new season, a pop-up bar has just up opened on the river terrace of Custom’s House in the CBD. Bosting views of the stunning Brisbane River and the glittering lights of the Story Bridge, Sunset Spritz is the perfect place for an after work cocktail or a lazy weekend drink from Wednesday to Sunday.
With Aperol Spritz – a fruity and bubbly mix of Aperol, prosecco, soda and orange – to cheers to summer with, or four different versions of the classic negroni to sip, along with wine you’ll feel summery in no time.
Pair these delicious drinks with a plate of their stylish bar food. There’s cheese platters to share (and by share, we mean ‘eat all by yourself with no shame’), or freshly shucked oysters to knock back. After a plate of crunchy calamari, bat away the winter blues with beer battered fish and chips. If you’re not much of a batsman, grab some crispy pork cheek sliders because if there’s a time to show a little cheek, it’s in the spring.
End your workday blitz at Sunset Spitz from Wednesday 23 September. It will be open from 4pm-late Wednesday- Saturday and 1pm-5pm on Sundays.
