On Wednesdays we eat pizza: where to get your fix this National Pizza Day!

It's the one day of the year where you can consume more pizza than what’s socially acceptable.

One of the most important days on the calendar is just around the corner! National Pizza Day will grace us with its presence next Wednesday, 9th February and as longtime pizza devotees, we thought we’d give you the rundown on where to get your wood fired fix.

Because good friends don’t gatekeep.

Julius Pizzeria | Fish Lane

If the aroma of wood fired pizza cooking isn’t enough to entice you in, then what are you even doing here?! Nestled within the Fish Lane precinct, Julius is well known around these parts for their authentic pizzas, so don’t be surprised to see a line out the door this National Pizza Day.

Try the Number One. The name says it all.

Italian Street Kitchen | West Village

This National Pizza Day, do yourself a favour and pay a visit to West Village, where you’ll find Italian Street Kitchen. Experience their authentic, Roman-style pizzas made with 48-hour fermented dough, complete with the highest quality ingredients.

Our pick? Prawn & Nduja.

Il Verde | King Street

As far as contemporary pizza restaurants go, Il Verde is up there with the best. A little slice of Italy situated along the King Street dining precinct, expect pizzas so good they’ll take you right back to your last euro trip.

We recommend the Diavola. Delicious!

Spread | Camp Hill

If you think Brisbane’s best pizza restaurants don’t exist in the burbs, meet Spread. Their menu may be small, but Spread’s carefully thought-out selection has everything to hit the spot. And on National Pizza Day, we can’t ask for much more than that.

Our pick? The Salumi, or the Ortolana for our vego friends.

Riverbar and Kitchen | Brisbane CBD

For those right in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD, Riverbar and Kitchen has your mid-week pizza plans sorted. Serving up the classics with plenty of add ons, there’s a pizza that’s sure to satisfy even the fussiest eater this National Pizza Day.

We recommend giving the Fungi a whirl. You won’t be sorry.

Bar Alto | Powerhouse, New Farm

If you’re after a slice of pizza with a bit of aspect, head on down to Bar Alto at the Powerhouse. Pull up a chair on the deck, take in the view and tuck in.

The potato, pear, rosemary and Taleggio is not to be missed.

Walkabout Creek Café | Enoggera Reservoir

For pizza with a side of nature, Walkabout Creek Café has you covered. Located in D’Aguilar National Park, it’s really the best of both worlds. With a curated menu of hearty options, grab a pizza (or two) and take in the scenery.

The Greek lamb kofta pizza is a must.

Pizza Antica | Wilston

From humble beginnings as a pizza oven on wheels to opening their first flagship store, Pizza Antica has well and truly earned a place in our pizza-loving hearts. And with a menu of over 20 pizzas, you’ll be spoilt for choice this National Pizza Day.

We rate the Quattro formaggi or the Kombi.

Por que no los dos?

Sasso Italiano | Woolloongabba

They haven’t been around all that long, but Sasso Italiano’s pizzas are well worth a mention. Serving up family-style old-school Italian, Sasso is home to a rich assortment of pizzas made using their signature dough and prepared in a bespoke Marana Forni wood fired oven.

Take the Calabria or La Vegano for a spin.

It doesn’t get much better than this, guys. So, go forth and consume all the pizza this National Pizza Day!
