Afterglow, Brisbane Festival’s newest range of installations, has dialled up the magic and is here to serve a brand new fire and light experience in the City Botanic Gardens, until 27 September.
We are talking 15,000 candles (yes, fifteen thousand!), fire sculptures, and lanterns that shimmer through the trees. It’s like walking through a dreamscape where every corner holds a little spark of surprise, with each moment designed to create quiet reflection.
Blending fire artistry and nature, this is not your ordinary walk in the park. It’s created by international fire artists and local talent and brings performance, stillness, and a ton of surprises. You will wander through glowing sculptures and stand in awe as flames move towards the sky, or simply soak in the beauty around you.
And of course, no festival is complete without food. Expect food trucks under the stars and marshmallow roasting by the fire. Afterglow is designed to fit your rhythm too, with multiple evening sessions to choose from. Tickets start from $26 per person on off-peak days, with each session lasting about 90 minutes.
