If there’s one thing we love more than beers, it’s riverside beers… and if there’s one thing we love more than riverside beers, it’s riverside beer feasts!
Enter everyone’s mates at Felons Brewing Co, who are celebrating their tasty brews with a new exploratory seasonal event designed to bring back beer’s well-earned place at the dining table on Monday, May 20. While we never struggle to down a few beers with a meal, it’s undeniable that dining table drinking is generally reserved for wine – a fact that the fine folks at Felons hope to flip.
Felons’ head brewer Tom Champion will be on hand at the Autumn Feast to talk through the pairings, saying “the hops in beer stimulate appetite, which makes it the perfect accompaniment to any dish”.
Five of the booming brewery’s fave beers including the Crisp Lager, Sonny cider, Australian pale ale, white stout, IPA and mandarin sour will be paired with fresh, seasonal dishes devised by Howard Smith Wharves’ executive chef Patrick Friesen.
Some of the brewtiful menu options include Spanish mackerel ceviche with pineapple, compressed celery and crispy corn, grilled eggplant with black garlic, dill and parsley, and a fresh mandarin and yoghurt creamsicle to finish.
Tickets to the Autumn Feast are $80, and are available here.
Let’s get yeasty.
