Chirstmas in July by the river

Head to the Riverside Centre in the CBD on July 31 and you’ll find yourself in an ultimate winter wonderland for Christmas in July. Celebrating the mid-year festive season in Riverside style, it’s the perfect excuse to eat your way through the best eats the precinct has to offer and indulge in a few festive cocktails! Start the night on Friday’s rooftop bar with Christmas themed tipples and then choose from the six restaurants participating in the event for dinner. You can cosy up at The George Bar and Bistro with a warm egg nog or spiced mulled wine and share a slow roasted lamb shoulder with sides of mac ‘n’ cheese and green beans for $60 (including the cocktails!). Or, head to Blackbird Bar and Grill for a 3 course roast dinner with all the trimmings – dessert too of course – for $70 per person. Want more options? How about tapas at Navala Churrascaria, seafood in style at Jellyfish or Nutella calzone at Groove Train? If only it went for more than one night, right? But you’ll have to pick one and wait until next year for the rest, and don’t take too long to book because these delicious dinners are likely to fill up fast! After you’ve well and truly developed a food baby (and probably had one too many cocktails – hope you cabbed it!), you can take in the entertainment, with acrobatics, bubble ballerinas (don’t ask – you’ll have to find out for yourself) and, maybe, just maybe, some icy, Christmas snow.
