If you’re anything like us and have to plan your month-to-month lineup of days to look forward to, we’ve got some great acts coming down under that you’ll be adding to the calendar in no time.
LANEWAY IS COMING IN RED HOT
The annual fest of all things art and music is rolling around quicker than we’d like (if you haven’t organised an outfit yet, that’s on you), and she’s happening in a fresh new venue for the first time in ages, opting for the Southport Sharks on Yugambeh Land. They’ve got one hell of a lineup, with the Midwest Princess herself, Chappell Roan headlining, and acts like Wolf Alice, Role Model, and Pink Pantheress playing throughout the day in what’s sure to be a Laneway to remember. Go have a stalk of their socials right here.
DON’T STOP TIL YOU GET ENOUGH OF THIS: IT’S MJ THE MUSICAL
He is one of the greatest entertainers of all time. Now, Michael Jackson’s unique and unparalleled artistry is thrilling audiences in the Olivier and multiple Tony Award-winning MJ the Musical. Coming to QPAC from March, get ready for all the moon-walking, sparkly-glove-wearing goodness as well as a dive into the making of his career-defining 1992 Dangerous World Tour. Check out their website here.
LORDE IS HERE IN FEBRUARY
What was *that?*… well, it was the BOB team positively bubbling with excitement about the New Zealand pop sensation coming across the ditch for her Ultrasound World Tour! Off the back of her staggering display of grappling with self-acceptance on her new album Virgin, Lorde will be playing to a sold-out Brisbane Entertainment Centre in February, and we’re already buying our electrical tape as part of our concert fits. Check out the BEC website here for all the other shows they’ve got on.
LINKIN PARK IN MARCH
After 13 years, they’re finally back, and your Dad probably won’t shut up about it. Mike Shinoda, Dave ‘Phoenix’ Farrell, Joe Hahn, Emily Armstrong, and Colin Brittain make their highly anticipated return on their From Zero World Tour. Following their monumental return to the limelight last year, Australian fans will have an opportunity to experience Linkin Park’s raw, high-octane performances as the band celebrates their new album, From Zero. They go on sale real soon, Brisbane, so get in line here.
LAUGH THROUGH AUGUST AT BOOK OF MORMON
Having personally seen this musical, and then seeing it crop up on my Spotify Wrapped, you can believe me when I say that the Book of Mormon is everything people say it is and more. And they’re coming back to Brisbane at the end of July! Hilariously following the misadventures of a mismatched pair of missionaries, it balances crude humour with a soundtrack that won’t quit, even after you’ve said ‘Hasa Diga Eebowai’. Join the waitlist for tickets here.
DEFTONES AT THE BEC
We’re calling it: 2026 is the year of the headbang. If your neck won’t permit it, it’ll at least still be a big year for alt-metal enthusiasts, because Deftones return to Australia in May. Bringing their immersive, genre-defying hits and Interpol and Ecca Vandal as openers for a run of explosive headline arena shows for the first time in nearly 10 years, it’ll be two nights of shoegaze excellence. Check out the details here.
OLIVIA DEAN COMES BACK DOWN UNDER IN OCTOBER
It’s like she’s all anyone can talk about anymore, and for good reason. International superstar Olivia Dean *is* that girl, and we see her going even further in 2026. If you’re as obsessed with her as we are, you’ve likely heard her announcing a Brisbane show in October next year. Tickets for this one are naturally sold out, so Tixel is your best bet for a stab at getting concert tickets from those reselling. Our fingers are crossed for you. Check out the details here.
GET TRANSPORTED TO THE SHIRE AT THE LORD OF THE RINGS AND THE HOBBIT IN CONCERT
The Shire has never sounded so beautiful. The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit In Concert is coming to Brisbane in March, with a magnificent orchestra, choir and guest artists to play for you the music from the movies you know and love. While this concert won’t be screening the movies (as you’d be there for an awfully long time!), this live concert is the perfect way to spend an evening indulging your inner nerd. All the details are here.
Of course, this is a tiny selection of all the gigs happening across Brisbane, so sign up to your fave venue’s newsletters for the best chance at snagging those big shows when they crop up. You won’t regret it.
