The beloved riverside restaurant at Brisbane Powerhouse is teaming up with Northern Rivers Ducks, a boutique, family-run farm in the pristine NSW hinterland, to bring diners a month-long menu dedicated to ethically raised, full-flavoured Pekin duck.
Sourced from lush pastures and nourished by clean, spring-fed water, these ducks are raised in a truly free-range environment, resulting in incredibly high-quality produce that speaks for itself.
Throughout August, Bar Alto will offer a curated selection of six limited-edition duck dishes alongside their regular a la carte menu. Expect refined comfort food like duck tortellini in bone stock jus with oyster mushrooms, and carnaroli risotto with braised duck, strawberry, and balsamic. For something more substantial, there’s a beautifully roasted half duck with sour cherry jus, lentils, and winter greens; perfect for two to share.
It’s an elegant and thoughtful celebration of a single ingredient at its best: one that’s well worth planning a night out for.
On the menu until the end of August, for lunch and dinner.
