Where to take Dad for Father's Day

Father's Day: Sunday, September 5, 2021

Skip the socks, jocks, and god-awful ties, and get Dad what he really wants on September 5—a seat at any one of the amazing Father’s Day feasts below. Keep checking in, as we’ll add more as they cross our radar!

Regatta Hotel | Toowong
The Regatta has you sorted with all the riverside views, frosty brews and tasty steaks that Dad could ask for! Start his day in The Boatshed with an a la carte breakfast available for $35pp (or $25pp for under-12s), with classic steak and eggs, cornbread waffles and pork and more on the menu. Tickets include a juice or coffee, and bookings can be made here with seatings available between 7 am and 9:30 am.

If the old man deserves a sleep-in, opt instead for the premium steak lunch in the level 1 function space from 12 pm. The menu stars a dry-aged porterhouse on the bone with a potato and parmesan beignet, creamed spinach, roasted bone marrow, heirloom carrots and house jus will be followed by a choc pudding with raspberry sorbet, Tim Tam crumble and raspberries! Tickets to the luncheon are $85pp (or $20 for under-12s) and include a beer or glass of sparkling on arrival, PLUS a shiny steak knife for Dad to take home! Book for the whole fam here while seats are available.
Newstead Brewing Co. | Milton

Shout Dad a brew at NBC’s Milton location, with live music, buckets of tinnies for $20, and a BBQ smokehouse special with beef brisket, pulled pork, cheese kransky, cornbread, beer-battered onion rings, apple remoulade and pickles on offer for $49. There’ll be lawn games (for some healthy family competition) and the team will even be taking polaroid snaps of you and the old man – cute! You can book a table here.

One Fish Two Fish | Kangaroo Point

Take Dad out for more than just your regular fish ‘n’ chips at One Fish Two Fish this Father’s Day! Treat him to a smorgasbord of seafood options, with a la carte lunch and dinner and family-friendly options for little tykes (or picky eaters… no judgement).

For the dads who think they’re comedians, we recommend the Quarter Flounder burger with beer battered chips, or Moreton Bay bugs on with house-made tagliatelle for the gourmets. There will also be specials available on the day, so keep your prawns peeled! Let your dad drink like a fish and eat like a king crab by booking here.

Walkabout Creek Cafe | The Gap

Celebrate Dad surrounded by nature at this laid-back spot nestled in the D’Aguilar National Park. Walkabout Creek Cafe is offering a brunch buffet for $42 or $28 for under-12s, with a spread including bacon rashers, scrambled eggs, corn fritters and danishes on offer (bookings available for 8 am-9:30 am and 9:30 am-11 am). If he’s more of a lunch guy, the lunch buffet will feature roast beef with red wine jus, spinach ravioli in Napoli sauce, and a range of salads and sweets, too. Lunch tickets are $55, or $35 for under-12s, and sessions are available for 11:30 am-1:30 pm or 1:30 pm-3:30 pm.

Come sunset, there’ll also be a Sunday sesh on the deck with shared platters available for $40pp—the bar will be open all day, too, of course! Learn more and book in here to make Dad’s day.

Nota | Paddington
Make the old man feel a bit spesh at this chic Paddington bistro! Nota is running special Father’s Day menu for $85pp, including a welcome drink for Dad, with oysters, beef carpaccio, Balmain bugs and plenty more on the table. Email the team on info@nota.com.au to book your fam’s place.
