At its heart, Corteo is a story about Mauro, who dreams of his own funeral while surrounded by friends. What unfolds is not a sombre farewell but a joyous procession — a celebration of friendship, shared dreams, and the spirit of the circus itself. Through breathtaking acrobatics, captivating music, and moments of comedy and tenderness, Mauro’s journey reflects the humanity and kindness within us all.
In a Cirque du Soleil first, the stage is placed at the centre of the arena, dividing the audience so each half faces the other — offering spectators not only a performer’s-eye view but also a unique chance to share in the reactions of fellow Brisbane theatre-goers.
With 53 international artists, 16 breathtaking acts, 31 original songs, and over 175 hand-crafted costumes, Corteo transforms the arena into a mysterious space suspended between heaven and earth, where dreams can fly and exist effortlessly.
Running from Thursday, 18 September through Sunday, 28 September 2025, the Brisbane season now includes newly added performances across its final weekend, giving Queenslanders even more opportunities to step into the whimsical world of Mauro the clown. Corteo is 125 minutes long, including a 25 minute intermission in between for breaks.
Tickets are on sale for the general public for Corteo shows starting on 18 September on Ticketek.
