Brisbane's meatiest breakfasts

We've got your next meat up sorted.

There’s a lot of chat out there about where to eat if you’re vegan or pescatarian or another other kind of ‘-an’ but, what about our meat lovers?

Where’s the best protein heavy breakfast you may ask? Well, whether you’re bulking, shredding or just love all of the foods then feast your eyes on our round up of Brisbane’s best meaty breakfasts.

Pulled pork fried rice | West End Coffee House | West End

If you haven’t cured a hangover with the pulled pork fried rice at West End Coffee House then seriously, where have you been? This little hole in the wall cafe is overflowing with locals who flock to this eatery for the best Asian eats around town. The fried rice is fluffed with Asian veggies, sweet pulled pork and a potent serving of chilli, topped with a wok fried egg. We’ll take two, thanks.

Braised lamb toastie | The New Black | Fortitude Valley

An all-day menu means breakfast for lunch and lunch whenever you damn please. The New Black’s braised lamb toastie will have you feeling all of the things for breaky, with nine hour braised lamb shoulder nestled between toasted sourdough, plumped up with green tomato relish, chilli-mayo, pickled onions and rocket. Protein intake = sorted.

Pork benedict | Morning After | West End

Shaking up a classic can sometimes be risky business but morning after do it spectacularly well. Whilst we’re quite protective of the humble eggs Benny that has been through many iterations, morning after’s pork benny is up there with the best, and definitely one for the carnivores. Expect fresh sourdough to be topped with two eggs and hollandaise as normal, but with a slab of smoked field-fed pork still on the bone, with a green apple and fennel salad to top it off. Did someone say protein?

Breakfast chilli | Remy’s | Paddington

You may know Remy’s for their iconic burgers but did you know they also serve a kicking breakfast? If it’s a meaty feast you’re after then the breakfast chilli is a must, with spiced mince, sour cream, avocado and two poached eggs sitting pretty on fresh toast. Honestly, you had us at Remy’s.

Lobster scramble | Goodness Gracious | Graceville

If you’re wanting to get a bit ~fancy~ with your meaty breakfast then a trip to the western ‘burbs is where you’ll find Goodness Gracious and their mouthwatering lobster scramble. You’ll be #CleanEating goals with their newest breaky offering scrambled eggs with lobster, garlic, crème fraîche and sourdough. Sometimes the ‘burbs do it best.

Rosti and Cajun fried chicken eggs Benedict | Pitch and Fork | Toowong

Prepare to unbutton your pants for this one because boy oh boy she’s a biggie. The eggs Benedict at Pitch and Fork was never going to be boring but their rosti and Cajun fried chicken Benny with poached eggs, spinach and sriracha hollandaise is out of this world. Is it possible to exceed your daily protein intake? Asking for a friend…

The LM Gringo waffle | Lady Marmalade | Greenslopes

If you’re searching for decadent savoury waffles then you can’t look past the goodies that Lady Marmalade cafe are serving up. They’ve well and truly thrown out the rule book on what breakfast waffles traditionally are, and are offering chilli cornbread waffles topped with savoury wagyu mince, minced chorizo, cheese, avocado, black bean salsa, sour cream and a fried egg. One thing is for sure, you’ll be rolling outta this one.

Breakfast schnitzel | Block House Coffee | Nundah

Breakfast schnitty? Shut up and take our money! Because a schnitty should never be restricted to just dinner, Block House is serving a breakfast schnitty with poached eggs, Parma ham, gremolata crumbs, lemon and rocket so, yes, all of our prayers have been answered.

Don’t worry meat boos, we got you.
