Brisbane’s best cafes for when you’re pushing a deadline

Whether you’re a struggling uni student, a late-night work-aholic or just a total night owl, everyone deserves a brew to get them through.

Cafés across Brisbane are (finally) extending their opening hours for people like us, and we’re here to spill the beans on where to get your late-night caffeine fix:

The Three Monkeys | South Brisbane

The Three Monkeys has been an institution for as long as we can remember, and well before cafés were ~trendy~. A perfect spot for huge cups of chai with friends or a coffee to fuel your late-night study session, The Three Monkeys is open from 9.30 till late every day. If you’re into flavours from all around the globe and Turkish teahouse vibes, quit monkeying around and get there now for a piece of late-night cake with your caffeine!

Kettle & Tin | Paddington

From Tuesday to Saturday, the cozy Queenslander that is Kettle & Tin opens its doors till 10pm! There are specials on offer most nights, including Trivia Tuesdays and Sunday Sessions, but you can always find a quiet corner to smash out some work (and yes, they keep the coffee machine open late).

Denim Co. | South Bank

Peanut butter Italian hot chocolate. Okay great, we have your attention. In the heart of South Bank lives Denim Co., where unbuttoning your jeans is acceptable practice. Denim Co. takes pleasure in ensuring you leave full and happy with their Italian sweet treats. Open from 6am until late, this is a study spot at which you could well and truly spend the day.

Death Before Decaf | New Farm

The name says it all, doesn’t it? The 24-hour coffee haven is dedicated to coffee lovers and night owls alike, and is always serving up baked goods to fuel your all-nighter. Don’t let the skulls on the front window deter you, these friendly baristas are serving up coffees with a smile, day and night.

Coffee Head Co. | South Brisbane

Newly opened Coffee Head Co. focuses on doing three simple things, and doing them well. Coffee, chocolate and relaxed vibes. The trendy venue is open from 7am till midnight, seven days a week, and is quickly becoming a crowd favourite. With books, art and rare succulents on offer, this carefree café is an absolute must-try.

Cafe Artease | Kelvin Grove

The night is dark and full of terrors (aka exam prep). If you’re a sleepless student of the QUT Kelvin Grove-variety, Café Artease is your new best friend!

Open until midnight Sundays-Thursdays and 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, this bubbly café is here to fulfil all your late-night bubble tea, crepe cake, and caffeinated needs.

Hot Shot Espresso Bar | Geebung

Hey hot shot – no nanna naps allowed! For a foodie adventure into the outer-city suburbs during the wee hours of the morning, be sure to cruise over to Geebung’s Hot Shot Espresso Bar.

When it comes to late-night haunting, these guys check all the boxes, sporting endless coffee, gaming consoles, and a trading time of 24 hours, seven days a week!

Cafés across the city know that some of us need a late-night cuppa to get us through our daily grind and are serving mug-loads of coffee well into the night. Sleep is for the weak.
