Brisbane’s Best Brisket

Winter is coming guys. I know, we live in Brisbane and our winter is basically non-existent, but everyone knows that once it dips below 20 degrees the uggies come out, the electric blanket is activated, and every morsel of comfort food in sight is consumed. And when it comes to comfort food, there are very few things more satisfying than brisket. Here is a list of places in Brisbane where you can indulge in some rich, slow-cooked goodness just in time for ‘winter’. Waterloo Hotel | Newstead You’ll be hoping and praying that this brisket delight from Waterloo Hotel somehow makes its way into your Sunday roast ritual. If you’re hungry, we strongly suggest you either make a booking right now or cease reading until you’re ready – the 12-hour slow braised beef brisket comes with chipotle BBQ sauce, charred corn, coleslaw, jacket potato, sour cream and chives. Drooling a little there are ya? Hudson Corner | Albion The best that Texas has to offer can be found right on your doorstep! Almost… You kinda have to mill on over to Hudson Corner. But trust us, this 12-hour wood-smoked Wagyu beef brisket is as satisfying as it sounds, and totally worth it. Big Roddy’s Rippin’ Rib Shack | South Brisbane Can you have all the deliciousness of succulent ribs, with the convenience of a virtually mess-free burger? Big Roddy’s says yes. Pulled beef served on a toasted brioche bun with coleslaw and homemade dill pickles makes it the meal that you can enjoy all in one bite. Never fear, Big Roddy’s won’t follow in Krusty Burger’s footsteps. This addictive puppy is here to stay. The Smoke BBQ | New Farm Beef brisket that has been rubbed and hickory smoked is exactly the kind of dish you’d expect from a place called The Smoke BBQ. Their brisket is smoked for 14 hours, sliced thin and long, mopped in Memphis sauce and makes life worth living. Gerard’s Bistro | Fortitude Valley If you’re looking for some ultra decedent brisket look no further than Gerard’s Bistro. Their slow-roasted wagyu brisket comes with seasonal accompaniments and is so delicious you’ll think you’ve died and gone to heaven. Death by meat is definitely the way we want to go. Hansel & Gretel | Gaythorne Brisket for breakfast? Sign us the hell up! Swing by Hansel and Gretel’s for their eggs benedict with BBQ pulled beef brisket. We’d totally risk getting trapped by a witch in a candy house for this bad boy. Smoked Paprika | Bardon Bacon and eggs is so passé. Treat yo’ self to a decedent breakfast at Smoked Paprika with spiced beef on Turkish bread with poached eggs, hollandaise, rocket, cherry truss tomatoes, grilled haloumi. It’s so good it’ll take the sting out of getting out of bed on a cold winter’s morning. That BBQ Joint | Roaming food truck Out and about? Foodie fiends, it’s time to risk it for the brisket. You’ll find That BBQ Joint roving around the city in their smokin’ hot food truck, and if we weren’t technically ‘employed’ and ‘on probation for eating more meals than we spend work hours’ (pfft, labels), we’d follow these guys around 24/7. Their 12 hour slow-cooked brisket sliders are a melt-in-your-mouth meating from the heavens. There you have it, Brisbane. Get out there and get your brisket on.
