Brisbane’s best breweries

For the days when Dad’s carton of Carlton just ain’t cuttin’ it.

It may not be summer, but Brisbane is feeling hop! So whether you’re looking for a lager or aching for an ale, we have a bevy of breweries waiting for you to check out and cheers to the day.

Archer Brewing | 278 Newmarket Road, Wilston

Born from a love of flying and beer, Archer Brewing promises easy travels aboard and a Brisbane-specific “in-flight” menu. An independent Brisbane-based brewery, their fleet of beers – IPA, Pale Ale, Lager and Pilsner – are 100% Australian made and each contain less than 5ppm of gluten. Happiness inbound indeed.

Revel Brewing Co. | 41 Oxford Street, Bulimba

Revelling in hand-crafted, locally brewed beers that are bursting with creativity and flavour, Revel Brewing Co. have expanded beyond their Rivermakers location at Morningside to now serve up their distinct beer catalogue and wood-fired pizza in the heart of Bulimba. Between their Japanese Rice Lager and signature IPAs, you won’t think twice about joining this particular Revel-ution.

Easy Times | 20 Logan Road, Wooloongabba

Trading in the latter half of the week from Thursday to Sunday, Easy Times is all about finishing your week off and starting your weekend on the right note. Kick back with local handcrafted beers and turn up the top tunes on offer for, well, an easy time. No false advertising here!

Felons Brewing Co. | 5 Boundary Street, Brisbane City

Nestled by the Brisbane River in the bustling Howard Smith Wharves precinct in the CBD, Felons not only serves up the crispest beers and finest foods, but you can take tours of the Brewery itself. And with the adjoining Barrel Hall, you can enjoy live music whilst sipping back on one of their Australian Pale Ales or Low Carb Lagers.

Ballistic Beer Co. | 208 Montague Road, West End

With innovative flavours such as the Hawaiian Haze Pale Ale, which blends notes of mango, pineapple and passionfruit, and the Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout, which is brewed with Thai and habanero chilli, mixed with cocoa nibs, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon, you’ll get your servings of sugar AND spice at any of Ballistic’s locations – extending from West End, Salisbury, Springfield, Bargara and even the Whitsundays. Wherever you are, go Ballistic!

BrewDog | 77 Metroplex Avenue, Murarrie & 235 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley

Proving that you can teach an old dog new tricks, the institution that is BrewDog at Murarrie has expanded its litter to the Valley where the goods continue to be served up in barking good manner. With 20 taps across three floors, there’s no shortage of their zesty, citrus Elvis Juice, the tarty pineapple and vanilla flavour of the Mallow Laser Quest, or their sweet, punchy Ginger Beer. There’s no barking up the wrong tree here.

Stone & Wood | 99 Bridge Street, Fortitude Valley

Stone & Wood’s Byron Bay beginnings have a little of their sand shaken off in the urban setting of Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, but their beer culture stays true; after all, “Good Beer” is their thing.  But, so is their crisp Treehouse Cider and the new tipple on the block, Sunly Seltzers – a gluten-free, no-nasties and low-calorie alcohol seltzer brewed with natural ingredients in three delicious flavours: plum and berry, blood orange and grapefruit, and peach and finger lime.

Cheers, Brissie.
