Prawns, bugs and more; where to find Brisbane's best seafood cocktails

This seafood starlet never goes out of style...

When it comes to cocktails, we don’t discriminate… That being said, there’s something effortless and indulgent about the mighty seafood cocktail, so we’ve found Brisbane’s best!

Sk Steak and Oyster | Fortitude Valley

This bougie spot off James Street does steak and seafood… and does it well. Start with a chilled cocktail with your choice of Mooloolaba king prawns, spanner crab, or Moreton Bay bug with classic cocktail accoutrements. It’d almost be rude not to pair ’em with a martini…

Hibiscus Room | CBD

This retro-inspired spot by the pool at the Hyatt Regency Brisbane is all about the ’70s and ’80s, which makes it a prime suspect for a mean seafood cocktail! Their version is loaded with meaty Moreton Bay bug, avo, Marie Rose sauce and lemon. Perfect for pairing with the other type of cocktail and catching some rays, we say!

Rothwell’s Bar & Grill | CBD

Glitz, glam, and a mean prawn cocktail! This chic spot nestled in a heritage-listed former tailor on Edward Street is all about the old-school bistro classics, so you can pair a nostalgic prawn cocktail with (allegedly) Brisbane’s best martini. Whether you’re perched at the marble bar or settling into a leather booth, brace for some old-school escapism (and service to match).

Manly Boathouse | Manly

It doesn’t get fresher than this! Dig into a bucket of prawns with Boathouse cocktail sauce with water views. Grab a spot inside the aesthetic restaurant, or go full seaside on the outdoor patio for some Hamptons vibes.

Walter’s Steakhouse | CBD

It doesn’t get better than the ol’ surf and turf, especially when the turf is a juicy steak at Walter’s, and the turf is a prawn cocktail nestled in crispy Romaine lettuce! Walter’s also offers chilled Moreton Bay bug with cocktail sauce if you prefer your seafood cocktail #nude.

We’re big fans of any cocktail that doesn’t result in a hangover!
