Five foodie additions to try in August

This month, we are challenging you to tick off these new openings from your must-eat list!

From Bulimba to Fortitude Valley and down to Palm Beach, new sensational restaurants are opening up all over the South East. If you missed dining out during lockdown like the rest of us, prepare your mouths for these five new eateries…

ESSA RESTAURANT | Fortitude Valley

Although they had a rocky initiation during the lockdown, Essa triumphed with their unique and luxurious takeaway, treating lucky customers to fried chicken with caviar and truffle mac ‘n’ cheese. We have high expectations for their full opening in late August, which will feature understated luxury and fine dining.

WHOLLY CRUMPETS | Bulimba

Sweet or savoury, traditional or vegan, honey or jam – there’s too much to choose from! Wholly Crumpets, as their name suggests, are the gods of perfectly toasted crumpets. Sip on their signature drink the Morning Glory, which combines cold brew, orange, tonic, and bitters, and relish in your handcrafted crumpets in their cute alfresco dining area.

ROSMARINO | Fortitude Valley

Boasting modern Italian cuisine, Rosmarino has grown from the owners’ original endeavours to open an intimate wine bar to an authentic ristorante, with Dario Manca joining the team as head chef. Rosmarino offers two decadent degustation menus in addition to noteworthy dishes such as the risotto ossobuco, which plates up Riserva San Massimo saffron risotto, white wine and tender bobby veal ossobuco.

LUNE CROISSANTERIE | South Brisbane

Taking the media by storm, Lune Croissanterie had Brisbanites queuing up during lockdown for their essential pastries. Originally from Melbourne, their first Queensland store has already proven to be a huge success – and a must-try addition to Brisbane’s baking scene. Believe the hype; these croissants are to die for!

SCOTT’S LUNCHEONETTE & BAR | Palm Beach

Perry Scott, the award-winning mixologist himself, will be serving his very best concoctions at Scott’s Luncheonette & Bar, conveniently situated near the water at Palm Beach. Using his 20 years of experience, Perry will be providing patrons with a Veneziano coffee in the morning and expertly crafted cocktail classics come sunset. And we can’t forget the gourmet sangas!

With so many new eateries around, where will you shop first?
