Experience a nine-course Indian-inspired degustation at this CBD all-rounder

Take me home, Silk Roads.

During COVID, most of us didn’t do much at all. Some binged Tiger King, some whipped instant coffee, while some simply continued to go about their essential business. The team at Botero House, however, spent the time crafting a secret project to tantalise the taste buds of Brisbanites…

The Silk Road degustation experience is inspired by the ancient silk routes that blend modern techniques and fresh Aussie produce with centuries-old tradition. The Botero House team have drawn on memories of their childhoods in India, England and Australia to write a story that echoes the ancient Silk Roads.

Nine courses of Indian, English, and modern Australian flavours await–each perfectly balancing sweetness, sourness, bitterness, spice, salt and umami. The experience begins with a Pacific oyster dressed with pomegranate, ashwagandha and onion oil, before show-stopping dishes like kangaroo tartare with black rice puff and mushroom ketchup, fried tandoori chicken with burnt butter, seaweed, milk and caviar, and a Windsor duck curry with carrots, beets, melon, and chocolate.

There’s a seperate menu for vegetarian diners, with killer dishes like pani puri, roti with condiments, and fried tandoori cauliflower.

We strongly suggest adding on the drink pairing to sip pretty on a miso old fashioned, alcoholic ginger beer, West Australian cab sauv, and more.

New dates are being added fortnightly, with November 7 and November 21 currently available. All kick off at 6:30 pm with a single seating each night, meaning you can take your time to enjoy the experience and soak up the smells, textures and flavours of India, England, and Australia. Head here to book your table.

Keeping The G&G up to date with tasty tidbits requires a lot of lattes and espresso martinis, so we occasionally collaborate with local businesses we love, like this one.
