Bluntys sharpens up Kangaroo Point

The cliffside’s newest café is straight stuntin’.

After a thorough inspection of Bluntys and their delicious offerings, we conclude that this is one shroom-filled breakfast café that’s definitely worth adding to your bucket list.

If the café’s name sounds familiar, it’s because you’ve probably already brushed shoulders with the man himself! Straight shooter Ryan Blunt is the owner of Bluntys and brings with him all of the knowledge and skills first honed as operations manager of Nodo café.

As for the café’s fit-out and kitchen, it’s elementary, my dear Watson! Boasting a white-brick interior alongside industrial furnishings, Bluntys is made beautiful by a humble simplicity that underscores what is a brilliant food and drinks menu.

Alongside the mushroom toastie, Bluntys head chef Connor Shore is serving up all the great breakfast staples, including a goat chevre avo’ on toast and poached or fried eggs on fresh sourdough.

Also set to fill your belly come lunchtime is Bluntys in-house deli, which offers a number of artisanal snacks.

Their white rye sandwiches are definitely catching our eye, with fillings such as rare roast beef with American cheese, pulled chicken sprinkled with fresh herbs, and mortadella topped with gruyere and fried egg up for grabs!

What’s a sanga without specialty coffee to keep it company? Your tastebuds can thank Five Senses, Bluntys’ local coffee supplier, whose beans at the café are ground down into a delicious brew one can enjoy in the café or to take away.

As well as your regular lattes and flat whites, Bluntys also provide a number of satisfying bevs, including Cosecha Organic chai, Love Tea. Creations, and Karma Cola Co. organic sodas.

Straight fizzlin’, no? Conduct your own detective work by nabbing the brews and sangas at Bluntys between 6:30am-2pm any day of the week!
