From Agnes to Bianca: James Street's new Italian hottie

Pasta, pollo and primo vino? Per favore!

Following on from the unprecedented demand in the wake of Agnes’ opening in late-2020, Agnes’ owners (who are also behind Honto and Same Same) have come through again with their latest lady: Bianca!

A salmon-hued fever dream of pan-Italian flavours across the food and beverage offering, Bianca offers up warm and welcoming Italian hospitality with a few inspired twists care of head chef Callum Gray (Agnes’ former head chef who chalked up Italian experience at London’s Luca) and actual Italian Mario Asero (who’s been at Greca and Sydney’s Bennelong and Totti’s). Take the oysters served with limone kosho (a Japanese condiment), agnolotti filled with fermented pumpkin and burnt butter, and the pollo alla Milanese, which sees an entire deboned half-chicken fried to golden.

An expansive list of breads, crudo and antipasti including sardines, mortadella, capocollo and pickled fennel offers the chance to MYO charcuterie combinations, while the dessert menu of six options ranging from cannoli to charming sorbet-filled lemons makes for an irresistible end to any meal.

In the bar, the wine list focuses mostly on Italian varietals, while a plethora of Italian gins calls for a martini (or two).

Bianca is open for dinner every day, and for lunch Fridays-Sundays (for now). Much like her older sister Agnes, though, bookings are hot property: plan your trip in advance and book in here!
