Best of where to eat in Albion

No longer a lesser locale when stacked against the staple suburbs of Brisbane’s urban eating scene, Albion is a thriving, vibrant precinct of hot coffee and even hotter sauce, melding all-day breakfasts, roasteries, and American BBQ joints together. You’re spoilt for choice!
Artie & Mai | 340 Sandgate Road

Embracing the social culture of the morning-after necessity of breakfast, Artie & Mai caters to your early (and not-so-early) cravings of big breakfasts, life-changing frappes and, of course, copious amounts of coffee. Between crispy buttered chicken and waffles, banana berry French toast and Spanish-style baked eggs, your taste buds won’t be left unsatisfied; until you come back for seconds, of course.

Hudson Corner | 10 Albion Road (Corner of Hudson Road)

Proudly serving “the best BBQ all around Brisbane”, Hudson Corner is Albion’s Bluegrass BBQ location, sistering the experienced pitmasters’ over at New Farm and Eatons Hill. Proudly boasting spicy treats as the Texan reaper burger, beef chilli cheese fries and third degree wings – for that extra burn – Hudson Corner isn’t for the faint of heart.  But you mustn’t fear if your taste buds prefer a mild seasoning as their cooked-to-perfection brisket and pulled pork plates caters to all, so the only thing you need to worry about is choosing between the corn bread or onion rings as your starter.

Herve’s Restaurant & Bar | 31-37 Collingwood Street

Whether your lunches are liquid or luxe, cocktails and conversations won’t go wasted among hand-cut steak tartare, Australian shellfish bouillabaisse, and vanilla bean and orange crème brulee. Sure, it’s fancy AF, but a little treating yourself never hurts, right? Al-bi-on that self-care vibe!

Fonzie Abbott | 41-45 Crosby Road

Merging the Australian culture of hot coffee and cold beer under one roof, Fonzie Abbott is a one-stop libation shop for the caffeinated crews of the sunshine state. A roastery, brewery and distillery all under one roof (not to mention merch), Fonzie Abbott is a hub of doppios and keto breakfasts, espresso martinis and BLT toasties, and spicy boy pizzas matched with seasonal craft beers.

Olive Thyme | 293 Sandgate Road

Where Turkish tradition meets modern inspiration, Olive Thyme delights in the creativity of both flavour and ambience. Calling this a Turkish delight would be too easy (though they do serve that for dessert), but with locally sourced halloumi, Fremantle octopus and Daintree barramundi on the serving plates, it’s difficult to praise it as anything else.

Brewbakers | 337 Sandgate Road

Carbs are life, and Brewbakers Sourdough Bakery is giving us ours! Showcasing the best in bread – who knew there was more than one type of sourdough?!?! – you may come for the sandwiches, but you’ll stay for the sweets.  Between chocolate chip bagels, lime and coconut cakes and Shrewsbury biscuits (that’s shortcrust with currants and lemon zest, FYI), baked goods take on a whole new meaning.

Albion Hotel | 300 Sandgate Road

Sometimes you just have to go back to basics. Familiar it may be, however the Albion Hotel is as classy as it is casual, serving up the comfort of the latest sports match against the craft beers and curated cocktails of their Cucina Bar, whilst you dine on everything from a classic cheeseburger to szechuan pizza and truffled field mushrooms. We love a versatile venue.
