Best of Brisbane’s Margaritas

A staple of girls nights, pre-dinner sipping, and Saturday nights alike, a margarita is a truly blessed concoction. As much as we love the simplicity of the classic or Tommy’s margarita, these twists are well worth branching out with!
EL COCO | MAYA MEXICAN

With a whole list of margarita variations, Maya is a marg-lover’s paradise! As well as classics including regular, spicy and Tommy’s margs, Maya offers a signature list including lychee, manga jalapeño and bloody mary iterations. Our eyes, though, are on the El Coco, with Patron Silver, triple sec, coconut, lime, bitters and a coconut rim.

ILTIMO | BAR BRUTUS

What’s not to love about a lemony twist? Bar Brutus has nailed elevated simplicity with thyme-infused blanco tequila, limoncello, agave and lemon. As if the escapism provided by Fish Lane’s lush Town Square wasn’t enough, this bad boy is guaranteed to take you down to flavour town.

CALYPSO CRUSH | EL CAMINO CANTINA

Chances are you’ve seen this next pick all over Instagram. El Camino’s sombrero snaps and frozen margs precede them, and for good reason. With an ever changing menu of fusion flavours served either in a frozen blend or on the rocks in two indulgent sizes, you’re spoilt for choice! Putting a Mexican twist on a nostalgic Aussie treat, you’ll want to check out the Calypso Crush.

BAHARAT MARGARITA | GERARD’S BAR

Gerards Bar can truly do it all. Among the Middle Eastern menu, enjoy their spin on the traditional Mexican marg, the Baharat Margarita. Made from milagro silver tequila, mezcal, apricot brandy, lime, baharat falernum and salt, enjoy the aromatic sweet and smoky spice of this unique cocktail.

BLACKBERRY AND BLUEBERRY | PEPE’S MEXICAN

Nowhere does margaritas quite like Pepe’s Mexican. A dozen margaritas? Sign us up! For the marg connoisseurs, you’ll be able to tick plenty off your bucket list, but the real showstopper is the vibrant blackberry and blueberry margarita with a hint of vanilla.

PINEAPPLE & JALAPEÑO | STREET CORNER JIMMY

Stylish Street Corner Jimmy knows a thing or two about cocktails. Tucked within its vast cocktail range is the pineapple and jalapeno margarita. Concocted with tequila, cointreau, jalapeño agave syrup, lime juice, pineapple juice, spicy salt, this is a marg you won’t forget.

SOUTH BANK SANDS | FIUME ROOFTOP BAR

The list would not be complete without one of Fiume’s homages to Brisbane in the form of liquid gold. While the name may inspire the need for a shower, the South Bank Sands with El Jimador Tequila, Pomme Verte, aloe vera, mint and citrus is definitely a refreshing take on the marg-ellous drink.

My, oh my, what a marg.
