Best of Brisbane: RSPCA’s Million Paws Walk

The paw-fect opportunity to show support for our furry friends.

Our city is full of everyday heroes, and nothing says you’re a superhero more than fighting against animal cruelty. The RSPCA Million Paws Walk returns after three years to call on all Queenslanders to be a hero for dogs in need.

With 6,359 dogs turning to RSPCA Queensland last year for a second chance, locals are being urged to walk with their canine companions at any of the eight locations across Queensland on Sunday, May 28 with Brisbane’s stroll running from 8:30am to 2pm out of the University of Queensland.

Every step of the way, you’ll be helping to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome dogs in need, with RSPCA’s Queensland Chief Veterinarian Dr. Anne Chester assuring that “all funds raised go directly to the RSPCA, which includes helping us rehome over 10,000 animals in Queensland each year.”

Starting from $15pp, Queenslanders across the state are being called upon to register and fundraise for the Million Paws Walks, with events being held in Brisbane, Cairns, Dakabin, Hervey Bay, Mackay, Noosa, Rockhampton and Toowoomba, where you can enjoy food vans, market stalls, live music and games throughout the day.

To register and donate to RSPCA Million Paws Walk, visit their official site, call (07) 3426 9999 or check out @RSPCAQLD on social media. Donations as small as $36 provide a surrendered dog with a warm bed, love and care for one day in an RSPCA shelter. You’d be barking mad to not join in!
