Running from 9am to 3pm, Kylie Johnson will open up her Paper Boat Press gallery and studio for all the city to admire. Established in 1995, Paper Boat Press is an online and in-store wholesale store that hosts workshops and creates every paper boat press ceramic object by hand. They say the best things in life are free, and you’ll see why by strolling through this open studio to admire stunning works from Australian artists.
Diversity Makes Us Better Designers | Museum of Brisbane, City Hall (16th May)

The Market Folk Market | 39 Hercules Street, Hamilton (20th May)
The Market Folk x Portside Wharf market will be running during BAD’s Northside weekend and hosting a fabulous lineup of local talent. Expect to find ceramic pieces of varying styles, finishes and disciplines such as vases, kitchenware, fashion pieces and more. At the market, there will also be live music, food trucks, art installations and The Market Folk pop-up store to enjoy too.
Southside x Mas & Miek Dinner | Southside, Fish Lane (25th May)
Art and food collide for one night only as Brisbane’s beloved ceramic studio Mas & Miek team up with the culinary talents at Southside Restaurant in the Fish Lane Arts Precinct for BAD. Enjoy a multi-sensory experience amongst the luscious jungle canopy at Southside where you’ll handle fine white porcelain and learn basic skills of how ‘pinch pot’ vessels take shape.
