Be charmed by Paddington’s new Darling & Co

Love Paddington? You’re about to love it more with the opening of the suburbs newest sweetheart, Darling & Co. Taking over the space where Iceworks once reigned, Darling & Co is more than just a restaurant, bar or a café, it’s an oasis, and you’ll find something to convince you to stay just a little longer at any time of day or night. The freshly remodeled venue is light, airy and oozing sophistication, with an open plan restaurant offering all day dining, a glamorous bar or two and some slick function spaces. Grab the girls and hit the venue’s restaurant for lunch and dinner and you’ll find a menu that makes clever use of local, seasonal produce, all sourced from Brisbane and surrounds. Start with crispy golden zucchini flowers stuffed with buffalo ricotta, move on to tagliatelle in braised beef cheek ragu and split a prawn, chilli and garlic pizza, or the slow cooked lamb shoulder with roasted vegetables. For dessert, you can’t go past the Negroni sorbet, because what’s a long lunch or relaxed dinner without a little booze? darling and co 2On weekends the restaurant opens up for breakfast, adding some flavour to Paddington’s ever growing brunch scene with options like hot cakes with fruit and mascarpone, or the healthy green breakfast bowl packed with kale, avocado, wild rice, grilled haloumi and soft boiled eggs. Spicy baked eggs have also made it onto the menu, so you know where we’ll be on any given Sunday morning. Throughout the week, you can stop in for takeaway coffee and pastries in the AM, but for those more interested in what they’ll be indulging in on a Friday and Saturday night, there’s plenty to please. Boutique wines, classic cocktails (including a very tempting espresso martini) and craft beers are perfectly matched with a bar menu of bites like grilled haloumi fingers, chicken lollipops and crisp calamari.
