That’s just what’s waiting for you at Medley Café & Restaurant, the newest addition to Kangaroo Point. Perched on the banks of the river and surrounded by high rise apartments, the café has its own oasis of calm, and takes full advantage of it with an all-day menu 7 days a week, and dinner Thursday to Saturday.
The location has some history, having once been the location of an immigration depot, which has influenced the cafes menu. If you’re the type who’s forever arguing over whether to go out for steak or curry, you’ll find both on the menu here! In fact, there’s a whole ‘medley’ of cuisines… get it? Head Chef Patrick Panier hails from France, but has cooked in North Africa and the Pacific Islands. Combined with the Greek backgrounds of the cafes owners, Nick Pavalkis and Stavros Tziortzis, and Russian influences from Stavros’ wife, there’s a whole world of inspiration on the menu, literally.
Even breakfast has international flavour, from the Catalan baked eggs with chorizo to something a little closer to home like the orange sugar French toast with Australian macadamia and lavender honey. For lunch, sample your way around the globe with moussaka, nasi goreng and Moroccan lamb tagine all on the menu. And if that deck sounds like it would be just as picturesque after dark, you pair a drink with your dinner and listen to live music on a Saturday night.
