Did you over-prepare for NYE pre-drinks and now you’re left with a bashful bank account and an over-abundance of cheap wine? Or maybe you’ve finally bought all that gym gear you need for the new year, new you, and dropped a few too many (monetary) pounds already? (Positive projection though!) Either way, we’re here to help make sure you aren’t living off stale bread and spreads with this week’s cheap eats.
Red Lotus | Fortitude Valley
Got a hankering for some crispy honey soy pork, a big plate of Mongolian beef or perhaps a spicy satay chicken? Put the take out menus back in the draw and head to Red Lotus on a Monday or Tuesday night and they’ll give you 15% off the bill – so you can get dinner and a side of jasmine rice for under $20. Better yet, their daily lunch special will only set you back $12, so you don’t even have to wait until dinner time if you just can’t wait to get your rice on.
Scotts Road Deli | Darra
This one goes out to those of you with a big appetite for banh mi, but a bite-sized budget. That’s right, fans of all things Vietnamese need look no further. For a mere $4 you can get your hands on some of the best banh mi in Brisbane (it’s out towards the border, but it still counts!). Whether beef, pork or chicken tickles your fancy, it’s totally worth the trip down to Darra to wrap your mouth around some seriously scrumptious lunch.
Now, did someone say early bird Easter egg sale?
