Thursday 21 The Cheese Pleaser Pop-up | Portside Wharf | Hamilton Cheese and wine by the river all weekend? Don’t mind if we do! Put a dairy note in your diary for the Portside Cheese Pleaser Pop-Up from the 21st to the 24th, with cheese platters from The Cheese Pleaser, live music and plenty of Australian wines and craft beers to tempt your palate from 11am to 9pm each day (8pm on Sunday). Friday 22 Green Beacon’s 3rd Birthday Celebration | Green Beacon Brewing | Tenneriffe Reaching three years since opening the roller doors in Tenneriffe, the boys at Green Beacon Brewing thought such a majestic milestone deserved not just a birthday, but a birthday week! Kicking off on January 21, and culminating on Australia Day, you can be certain it will be a week filled with boozy birthday fun and appreciation for the locally brewed craft we all know and love. Saturday 23  Mucho Reggaeton Street Festival | Brooklyn Standard | CBD Ready to get your Latin groove on this weekend? Well head to Brooklyn Standard, where they’ll be taking over Eagle Street Lane for a street party – reggae style. Have your fill of Latin street eats and drinks, then get down on the dance floor to the sweet sound of reggaeton and percussion. Tickets are $15 and you can grab them here. Great Australian Bites | South Bank With something to please every foodie palate, the Great Australian Bite is the stuff of dreams. Hosted in South Bank from the 23rd to the 26th with a focus on all food that’s locally lush, this is an event that showcases the best of what’s in our own backyard. Did we mention a ridiculous roster of homegrown musical talent to boot? Wrapping up on Australia Day with a fabulous display of fireworks, whether you’re a foodie or just a fan of a good food truck, this is an event you don’t want to miss. SBC Tap Takeover | Saccharomyces Beer Café | South Brisbane Get a moo-ve on down to Fish Lane for some farm yard themed fun this Sunday when Beard & Brau takeover the taps at Saccharomyces Beer Café. There will be 10 Beard & Brau brews and a special menu of 10 tapas that either incorporate or match each of their delicious drops. Dress in your best farm yard animal getup for the chance to get your hands on some sweet prizes and join in on some of the games to banish those Sunday sads. Trot along!
