If you’re a regular on the Gold Coast, there’s no chance you could have missed the fact the Brooklyn Depot dishes up some of the beachside city’s best burgers, not to mention milkshakes, wings and fries. And if you, like us, already occasionally take a trip down there just to wrap your hands around a Fuhgeddaboudit burger, piled with a beef patty, beef chilli, cheese, onion rings and a hot sauce injection, you’ll be jumping up and down to hear they’ve just opened their doors in South Bank.
Taking over the space left behind by South Side Diner, this is one USA inspired burger and beer bar where ‘epic’ doesn’t even begin to cover it. From the garbage fries loaded with bacon, onion strings, cheese AND deep fried pickles to the double waffle ice cream sandwiches, Brooklyn Depot will leave you feeling heavier just looking at the menu.
Your eyes are always going to be bigger than your stomach here, after all, who could choose between BBQ pork ribs, a slow cooked pork belly burger or just a table full of chicken lollipops and pimped out chicken wings? Lucky there’s plenty of drinks to wash it all down, including a lengthy beer list and some adults only boozy shakes.
