Holey Moley! Tee up for Brisbane’s new mini golf bar

Hole up, hole up – there’s a new bar in town and it’s well and truly above par! No putts about it, Holey Moley is going to be our favourite spot to start a night out, with an 18 hole mini golf course to drink, uh, we mean putt our way through, taking over the old church on Warner Street in the Valley. And these are no ordinary holes – there’s everything from the Nine Iron Throne (geddit???), Twister, pinball and Nirvana to even a washing machine involved on this course. With pumping music, flashing lights and more quirky pop culture references than you could poke a golf club at, you may not even need to hit the bar to keep yourself entertained – but it will make trying to sink the last few holes way more fun! Sound good so par? Wait until you hear about the cocktails! The line up of libations includes the Teeyonce Holes, with vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice, sour mix lemonade and soda, and The Putty Professor, with rum, milk, chocolate sauce, peanut butter, Reese’s peanut butter cups, and crushed Maltesers. Of course, there’s also wine and beer, and plenty of soft drinks for the tee-totalers. holey-moley-2Once you’ve had enough of playing with balls, find yourself a table outside on the green (or maybe in the golf cart that greets you at the entrance), and wrap your hands around buns stacked with fried chicken, all of which fly over from Lucky Egg next door. Prefer to nibble while you cackle over your best golf puns? Order up buffalo wings, smokey fries and karaage chicken, or grab a flavour infused popcorn bucket. You can even plan a ballin’ par-tee at Holey Moley, with reserved seating, pizzas and drinks to keep you going while you putt your way around the course, both for grown ups and little putters. If you think you’ve got the balls to take on Holey Moley, you’ll find them at 25 Warner Street, Fortitude Valley, open Monday to Friday from 12pm-late, and weekends from 10am until late. Be ready to putt loose. Words by Ranyhyn Akui
