How to drink tequila like George Clooney

GEORGE CLOONEY. That got your attention, right? Everyone’s favourite silver fox is a man of many talents: let’s face it, he’s a sex god with solid acting chops who has perfected the art of the espresso sip. And now you can add tequila master to the long list of why he’s your dream boyfriend (damn you Amal). Casamigos Tequila is named after George’s pad in Mexico and roughly translates to “house of friends”. If your invite to his tropical hideaway got lost in the mail, drown your sorrows in his ultra-premium booze. Crisp and clear, this tequila is the perfect way to add some class to your Saturday night – we recommend trying these Clooney-approved cocktails.

DANNY OCEAN

• 1 1/2 parts Casamigos Reposado Tequila
• 3/4 parts fresh lemon juice
• 3/4 parts fresh pink grapefruit juice
• 1/2 part agave nectar
• 1/4 part maraschino liqueur

Shake ingredients with ice then strain and serve on the rocks.

PEACH AMIGO

•  1 1/2 parts Casamigos Blanco Tequila
• 1/2 parts peach, pitted and cubed
• 6 lemon cubes
• 1 teaspoon caster sugar

Muddle all ingredients except tequila. Add tequila and enough ice to fill a rocks glass. Short shake and pour.

RASPBERRY SMASH

• 1 1/2 parts Casamigos Blanco Tequila
• 3/4 part fresh lime juice
• 1/2 part agave nectar
• 5 to 8 raspberries

Combine all ingredients with ice. Shake and pour into a rocks glass.

CASAMIGOS WATERMELON MINT MARGARITA

• 11/2 parts Casamigos Reposado Tequila
• 3/4 parts fresh lime juice
• 4 parts muddled watermelon
• 1/2 part simple syrup
• 6-7 mint leaves

Muddle mint and watermelon, add remaining ingredients, shake, and fine strain over fresh ice. Garnish with mint sprig and lime. Te amo, tequila (and George). Words by Georgia Tyler
