With the days getting longer (and warmer), it’s the perfect time of year for a Sunday sesh, so grab your gang, settle in with a spritz and see how many of these you can tick off!
The Fox Hotel | South Brisbane
Hello Soho! Brisbane’s most iconic Sunday sesh kicks off on The Fox Hotel’s rooftop every Sunday. Affectionately known as Soho Sundays, 2pm sees the start of a wave of colourful characters rallying together for crisp views, brews, and DJ tunes. Grab a cocktail jug and keep your Instagram game foxy.
Peasant | Petrie Terrace
Life’s too short not to try everything, so why not spend your Sunday snacking on tapas tasting boards and sipping on Sangria? Salsa into Peasant for bowls of paella, $20 sangria carafes and $35 tasting boards.
Darling & Co. | Paddington
If the sting from Saturday night is too much to handle, Dr. G&G recommends a healthy dose of hair of the dog, in the form of bottomless Bellinis. Shuffle into Darling & Co. for a mouth-watering main and two hours of endless Bellinis for $39pp, as well as DJs from 2pm. Just don’t blame us if your hangover miraculously reappears on Monday….
Kettle & Tin | Paddington
No one wants to be bored on a Sunday, so we recommend getting a board – of cheese that is. Team it with a bottle (or two – let’s be real) of wine and you’ve got no excuse to dread Sundays. Board and booze $60 specials kick off from 3pm. Boogie into your Monday with live music, and you’ll forget what day it is in no time.
Customs House | CBD
Customs House is hitting the gin – and it’s hard to know who is more sparkling, the view or the cocktails! Chill out in their latest seasonal pop up, Tanqueray Terrace, and enjoy fresh gin cocktails, as well delicious bites including fried pumpkin flowers with goats cheese, sundried tomato and thyme served with preserved lemon dressing, and Moreton Bay Bug buns with gem lettuce and cocktail sauce. Cruise in from 12pm each Sunday through spring and summer.
The Triffid | Newstead
There’s only one kind of blues we’ll accept on a Sunday, and that’s accompanied by some rhythm. Croon on into The Triffid on a Sunday for an afternoon of folk, country, rock and roll, rhythm and blues presented by some of the most respected musicians around. Relax in the gardens with a beer, and tuck into some panko prawn tacos or Triffid kaarage chicken. The only way to see out the weekend is with a beer with one hand and a taco in the other – otherwise we don’t wanna taco about it.
Byblos | Hamilton
You won’t be at a loss after smashing a few sessions at Byblos. Across December 9, 16 and 23, Portside Wharf’s classic riverside bar have teamed up with Moët and Chandon to line up some much needed champagne showers during one hot Aussie summer. Mediterranean bites and music will keep you going while you become skilled in the art of playing the flute. Look how talented you are.
Embrace that sun, it’s the day for it after all!
