But let’s be honest, we all know once the last marching band has finished up and the floats have rolled on, the energy doesn’t just fizzle out. It simply migrates toward the nearest pint of Guinness.
On Saturday, 14 March, Finn McCool’s is throwing a massive St Patrick’s Parade Day After Party from 12:30 pm right through ’til 11:00 pm. It’s basically the go-to HQ for revellers looking to refuel and maybe find a chair before, during, or after the main event.
The entertainment will kick off in the arvo with Tartan Shamrock getting the ball rolling, followed by Johnny Jump Up taking over for the mid-afternoon slot. As the sun starts to dip, Limerick MCB will carry the crowd into the early evening to make sure the vibe stays high, well after the parade has packed up.
Because it wouldn’t be a proper Irish knees-up without the traditions, they’ve also got bagpipe performances popping up throughout the day and a dedicated Irish dance set. It’s the perfect time to appreciate the footwork, or at least try to copy it yourself after a couple of drinks (though definitely be careful of your hamstrings). As the night truly settles in, The Gathering will take over the stage, with Tales of Strangers closing out the night across multiple stages. They’ll even have roaming entertainment to keep things lively between sets, so there’ll never really be a dull moment.
And take note… walk-ins only! Absolutely no tickets to lose and no exclusive sessions to worry about. It’s designed for parade-goers to just wander in whenever they want, stay for a set, or settle in for the long haul if their legs have given up on them.
While the parade brings the city to life, Finn McCool’s is where the atmosphere really sticks around. If you’re looking to keep the green spirit alive this St. Patrick’s Day, this is where the real after-party happens.
This one will be legendary. Slainte! 🍀
