SEQ music lovers, this one’s for you. After yet another sold-out year in 2024, The Long Sunset is back for 2025 and it’s shaping up to be the ultimate weekend getaway just over an hour from the city. From 31 October to 2 November, the lush hinterlands of Queensland’s Scenic Rim will once again transform into a musical escape like no other.
Set in the charming township of Boonah, this three-day festival isn’t just about the music, it’s about unplugging, hitting the road, and fully embracing the long weekend vibes. Whether you’re rocking up in a campervan, throwing down a tent, or glamping in style, this is your chance to soak up the magic of golden hour, live music, and community spirit in one of the most picturesque pockets of the state.
This year’s lineup is stacked with favourites. Boy & Bear headline with their signature feel-good folk-rock, joined by the ever-enchanting Vera Blue, the stunning vocals of Gretta Ray, and the gritty brilliance of The Buoys. Expect high-energy sets from Jem Cassar-Daley, funky chaos from Playlunch, genre-blending genius from Tjaka, and foot-stomping blues from The Vernons. There’s even something for the kids (and nostalgic grown-ups) with Bunny Racket bringing a mini mosh for little rockers.
But it’s not just about the main stage. The Long Sunset offers a full sensory experience, from sunrise yoga and hands-on workshops, to local food trucks, roaming performers, and Boonah’s legendary country hospitality. Want to go beyond the festival gates? You’re in the heart of the Scenic Rim, home to boutique wineries, misty bushwalks, and quiet country pubs worth the detour.
Part of the wider Qld Music Trails: The Scenic Rim, the whole region will be buzzing with satellite gigs, pop-ups and secret spots to discover across the weekend. Think of it as a choose-your-own-adventure meets music fest.
First release tickets are already sold out, and second release is flying – so if you’ve been meaning to get away, this is your sign. Rally the crew, pack the car, and make a break for the Scenic Rim. The Long Sunset isn’t just a festival, it’s a full-blown, fresh-air, soundtrack-to-your-spring kind of weekend.
