Joining the likes of Aloria at Queen’s Wharf and The Star Brisbane, Lúc Lắc is the latest newcomer throwing open its doors in the very impressive lineup of restaurants coming to the City’s shiny precinct. This is the tenth restaurant by Ghanem Group, with its menu curated by Ghanem Group Executive Chef Jake Nicolson alongside Head Chef Dann Rowell – a duo who specialise in South-East Asian cuisine. And the result? A sweet spot between fragrant Vietnamese dishes, Thai flavours, and the freshest Queensland produce.
Lúc Lắc’s name is inspired by the wok-tossed traditional dish Bo Luc Lac, and the team has added their own twist with Kampot peppered beef, cherry tomato and capsicum, amongst other ‘stirred and shaken’ plates. Chef Dann has designed the menu around irresistible snacks, small plates, saucy slow-cooked curries and aromatic broths.
While we could happily be here all day relaying the intricate flavours that make up every single one of Lúc Lắc’s dishes, we know you’re already clicking away to lock in your reservation (and we can’t blame you). Our highlights are the roasted red duck curry with lychee and beansprouts, the crispy escargot and pork spring rolls with house-made nam jim sauce, the hilariously named Nam Jimmy’s margarita (iconic), and the Viet Misu tiramisu with Vietnamese coffee and dulce de leche.
