Longwang has arrived and they’re serving up some of Brisbane’s best modern Asian cuisine

We’ve been waiting very patiently for this one. Longwang has arrived and it’s already bringing a whole new energy to the CBD.

The wonderful people from the Tassis group have done it again, Brisbane. They’ve opened a brand new restaurant in the heart of the city but this time they’re shaking things up and specialising in modern-Asian cuisine. As you’ve probably seen, we’re already regular diners at all of Tassis’ restaurants, including Opa, Yamas, and also newly opened Fatcow, so we have no doubts that this new venue from the group will be anything less than amazing.

The menu boasts delicious seafood options which already have our mouths watering. We’re most keen to try the local mud crabs and Tasmanian Rock Lobsters plucked fresh from a live seafood tank and prepared in your choice of three styles. There are also a variety of wok-tossed fare including bug tail “kung pao” and whole fried baby barramundi with dry red curry snake beans.

If seafood doesn’t float your boat, the menu also features a Massaman curry made with braised lamb shoulder, slivers of wok-tossed pork belly in sichuan pepper, black bean and chilli, and a charcoal-grilled half chicken slathered in a sweet, sour tamarind driven satay sauce.

Longwang is proving that the best things really do come in small packages. The building stands at only 3 metres wide, by 30 metres long over two and a half levels. But don’t be fooled by its small size – the venue still manages to include a formal dining room, multiple dining spaces, a rooftop bar and cocktail lounge.

We know no good meal is complete without some form of booze, of course. Lucky for us, Longwang has an impeccable wine list which has been crafted to compliment Asian cuisine. Or you could indulge in a cocktail tailored to your individual taste preferences upon request.

Longwang is already ticking all of our boxes. We’ll be checking it out next week so keep your eyes on our Instagram to see the official Best of Brisbane review – we know you’re counting down the sleeps!
