I HEART BROWNIES | HEMMANT
Lulu Purnell’s heart-shaped brownies are a longtime favourite for our GF sweet tooths. From cherry coconut to macadamia white chocolate and caramilk, they have a plethora of your favourite sweet flavours to choose from. Either visit them in-store or order online with next day delivery available if you live near the CBD. In celebration of IWD, they have some adorable merch available including custom themed boxes for your brownie orders and a ‘yas queen’ tin mug to pair your favourite beverage with your favourite brownies.

Co-owned by Amelia Taylor, these two stylish venues are the place to go for amazing food and drinks. Midtown, in Fish Lane is perfect if you’re looking to indulge in some exceptional cocktails and delectable bites to eat. Martini lovers, be sure to visit between 4pm & 6pm on Tues-Sat for special deals on your favourite cocktails. For the seafood connoisseurs among us, you’ve probably already been to the popular One Fish Two Fish and if you haven’t, what are you doing? With a large menu featuring BBQ miso prawn cutlet salad and salmon sashimi, it’s the perfect spot to get your seafood fix.
LADY MUSGRAVE TRUST | LOGANLEA
In the spirit of IWD and supporting women, Lady Musgrave Trust, run by CEO Victoria Parker is an organisation dedicated to saving and enhancing the lives of women in QLD. They host a variety of fundraising events each year to bring people together and support the worthy cause with their next cocktail party fundraiser happening on the 24th of May. This event will be raising funds to build safe and secure homes for young mothers and their children through their Logan Housing Project. Tickets are available on their website so be sure to grab yours for this very important event filled with great music, flavoursome food and drinks and a charity auction. If you can’t make it, donations are always welcome through their website.
LA LUNE WINE CO | SOUTH BRISBANE
For the wine-loving gals, you need to hit up co-owner Bailee Dewes at her stylish wine bar tucked in Fish Lane for a new wine recommendation. Blending European style bistro and relaxed Australian dining, this laneway bar is the perfect spot to catch up with friends and indulge in their snack or feasting range as well as their inventive wine varieties. Test your creativity and try your hand at pottery in one of the many classes and workshops led by mother-daughter duo, Mieke & Charlie De Deyne. Zoe Johnstone, the owner of Brisbane’s premier platter box and grazing table company, Say Cheese, also owns a charming hidden Italian gem nestled in the heart of Camp Hill. With hand-stretched pizzas and house made pasta, it’s the kind of hearty takeaway that feels straight from Nonna’s kitchen. The menu offers a range of unique and classic options, from traditional margherita pizzas and creamy carbonaras to inventive flavours like garlic and honey, or truffle pizza and a decadent duck and tomato ragu pappardelle. With dairy free and gluten free options available, you truly can’t go wrong. Also, a pro-tip: they do $18 pizzas on Tuesdays and BYO Wednesday and Thursday nights for just $5 corkage! This intimate venue fronted by the lovely Sarah Scott brings a unique dining experience driven by creativity, passion and story-telling. When we say this restaurant is tiny, we mean tiny, with the 36 square metre only having capacity for a handful of people. Therefore, this reservation-only venue books out very quick so be sure to keep an eye out on their Instagram for cancellations to snag up a spot or visit their website for availabilities.

From the classic pain au chocolat to their morning bun, filled with brown sugar, cinnamon and orange zest filling, to their mouth-watering monthly specials, you’ll find yourself coming back again and again. Their head chef, Catherine Anders, has used her expertise and skill to curate a mouth-watering menu that will satisfy your taste buds. With a range of lunch and dinner options to choose from, such as their Moreton Bay Bug gnocchi and their beef carpaccio, you’re sure to find something you’ll love.
