Honour Ave Cellars–a 28-square metre wine bar, eatery, and bottle shop–opened for business yesterday, the likes of which Brisbane has never quite experienced before, with bottles of wine lining the blue walls all available for takeaway.
Owner and chef Chris Siktars has sourced more than 2500 bottles from more than 100 labels, including rare drops from the foothills of Mount Etna, Hungary, Chile, Spain, and Queensland’s burgeoning regions. A menu heavy on European flavours is offered alongside the vino, with Hungarian, German, Italian and Spanish salumi, cheeses, and bar snacks like ceviche with fennel pollen buttermilk, green apple, and herbs, and an aged beef tartare with toasted brioche.
Already an intimate venue, COVID restrictions mean that Honour Ave Cellars can serve four guests at a time inside, with a small number of outdoor spots available also.
