Two beloved venues are going full Bavarian for Oktoberfest!

Don your dirndls, brace for bier, and skip breakfast… this is going to be BIG.

Following the cancellation of Brissie’s major Oktoberfest event this year, Cloudland and The Island Gold Coast have stepped up to the (pork-laden) plate to deliver some bangin’ Oktoberfest celebrations in its place!

On Saturday, October 24 at The Island and Saturday, October 31 at Cloudland prepare to enter a Bavarian beer hall that’ll have you forgetting all about your abandoned travel plans… we’re talking oompah bands, classic Oktoberfest games, and best-dressed comps (all in COVID-safe style, of course).

Oktoberfest is all about pigging out (literally…) so your $95 ticket will see you getting down and dirty with a shared feasting board for your table which comes laden with juicy wurst, sliders, schnitzels, breads (yes, pretzels *heart eyes*), sauerkraut and plenty of perfectly cooked pork!

It wouldn’t be an Oktoberfest do without bevs, so you can look forward to the best of the best across both venues’ celebrations, with plenty of German bier on tap, schnapps cocktails (now that sounds like a party…), and wine all on offer via contactless payment to get you feeling gut!

As well as the chance to be crowned Miss or Mr Oktoberfest for dressing up in your best dirndl or lederhosen (or bratwurst costume… maybe), glory is up for grabs in the form of pretzel-eating competitions in case you somehow have room after demolishing your feasting board.

Two sessions will run at each venue: 11 am-3 pm (at which kids are welcome with adult supervision), and 5 pm-9 pm. All groups will be assigned their own tables and chairs per COVID-safe requirements, meaning you don’t have to go through the annual Oktoberfest struggle of scrambling for a seat!

You can learn more and buy your tickets to The Island’s event here, and to Cloudland’s event here. Prost!

Keeping The G&G up to date with tasty tidbits requires a lot of lattes and espresso martinis, so we occasionally collaborate with local businesses we love, like this one. To learn more about our food-crazy audience and how we can help you out, head here.
