Brisbane now has a Mei Wei Dumplings!

I did it Mei Wei.

Fresh in from the Gold Coast, where the first iteration of Mei Wei Dumplings continues to enthral Broadbeach diners with juicy dumplings, punchy stir-fries and glistening roast meats, Brisbane has now been gifted its own Mei Wei Dumplings with an extended Cantonese hawker-style menu!

Tucked in the lower level of Treasury Brisbane, Mei Wei Dumplings’ vintage Hong Kong-style interior (covered in hand-painted murals by local artist Bastian Allfrey) sets the scene for what’s to come: mouthwatering plates of dumplings, house-roasted meats, soups, wok-fried dishes, and plenty of sides – we recommend unbuttoning your jeans riiiiiiiiight about now.

The name of the game is, of course, dumplings, and chef Song Yao Su’s options include xiao long bao, xia jiao prawn dumplings, steamed dumplings filled with pork beef or chicken, and glistening veggie dumplings.

Other authentic flavours on offer at the new Brissie location include chicken soup with dates and lily root, barbecue plates of cha siu pork, roasted duck, and pork belly, Singapore-style curry rice noodle with pork and prawn, and custard-filled “golden buns” for dessert, as well as several bubble tea options!

A private dining room for 14 guests also comes with its own seafood-focused menu, offering impressive spreads of fried lobster with ginger and shallot, Hong Kong-style fried mud crab with chilli garlic crust, and juicy steamed scallops with vermicelli and black bean sauce.

Open from 11 am till late every day, Mei Wei Dumplings at Treasury Brisbane is a guaranteed win when it comes to tasty, casual cuisine in the CBD (and they even do takeaway!). How’s that for a ~succulent Chinese meal~?
