Where to celebrate St Patrick’s Day 2020

Raise your Guinness to these great St Patrick’s day celebrations!

If anyone knows how to party, it’s the Irish. And this year, we’re lucky enough that their biggest celebration falls on a Tuesday, which means the party will technically kick off the Saturday before (sorry not sorry).

So follow the rainbow and find your pot of gold (aka great beer and hearty feeds) at this year’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations around town.

Munich Brauhaus and The Bavarian | Various

Meet the Big Irish Breaky Schnitzelmeister: the menu item that is a beautiful fusion between Irish and German cuisine, giving you the (unexpected) best of both worlds. To celebrate St Patrick’s day, Munich Brauhaus and The Bavarian are huddling up with their Irish friends, and are setting the challenge of conquering this enormous schnitzel tower. Comprising a stack of three schnitzels in parmigiana sauce loaded with curried gems, blood sausage, cheese, crisp bacon, two sunny side up eggs and a drizzle of tomato sauce (wow), the challenge is to smash it down within one hour, along with 500ml of green beer. Available from Sunday, March 15 until Sunday March 22, beat the challenge and the feast is on the house! Find out all details here

El Camino Cantina | Bowen Hills

Let’s be real – margaritas are one of those cocktails that tastes amazing no matter what flavour they are, and El Camino Cantina has nailed it again this time. Come Tuesday, March 17, this Tex-Mex favourite will be going green with their Midori Splice’ Rita. Make this beautiful emerald-hued frozen concoction yours by strolling their way with all your margarita-loving squad!

PaddyFest 2020 | Eagle Farm

Feel the luck of the Irish at this year’s Paddyfest, where good beer and great craic are waiting for you. On Saturday, March 14, Paddyfest will be painting Eagle Farm green with their St Patrick’s Day festival, featuring epic live entertainment, hearty plates such as braised pies from the Diddly Dee food truck, and delightful beverages to wash it all down! Grab your tickets here, and raise your Guinness to that!

Finn Mccool’s | Fortitude Valley

If there’s anyone in town that’s going to take St Patrick’s Day seriously, it’s this Fortitude Valley pub with the heart of the Irish! On March 17, the Irish will be taking over Brunswick Street Mall from 10am with food stalls, pop-up bars and a heap of live entertainment. If you’re keen to start the celebrations a little early, hit up their St Patrick’s parade after-party on Saturday,March 14, where endless Guinness will be flowing all night long.
