Croissants at Paddington Social are no-brainer. Always doing things differently, Paddington Social serves up fresh Thai fare by night, and decadent pastries, coffee, breakfast and lunch by day. Their famous croissants (that take three days to make, BTW), come in an ever-changing array of flavours – we’ve seen yummies before like baklava, strawberry cheesecake and hot dog – and are always nabbed up hella quickly! The hard part is choosing which croissant you want, the easy part is consuming it in three flakey bites.
Sol | West End
What if we told you that you could enjoy a buttery croissant that is 100% vegan? West End’s Sol Cafe is forever taking care of those of us with special dietary requirements, and doing so in delicious fashion. Pop by and enjoy one (or five) of their vegan croissants when they’re in stock, or opt for the Vegan Sol Benny and top that bad boy with scrambled herbed tofu, garlic mushrooms, kale, and vegan Benny sauce. 11/10.

You know them for their brownies, but don’t forget the staples! F+C’s croissants are the perfect ratio of soft:crispy, buttery:flaky, and frankly, we can’t get enough (though we do always pick up a brownie on our visit, too). Like yours stuffed? Don’t skip the almond and dark choc croissant, or the Saturday spesh choc and coconut number!
King Street Bakery | Bowen Hills
It’s no secret that we think King Street Bakery is one of the best in the bizz. With some of the most talented bakers in Brissy, this bustling joint offers a classic croissant, an almond croissant and an outrageously good pain au chocolat. King Street’s goodies are constantly crowned “Brisbane’s best croissants,” for a damn good reason, we must say.
Chouquette | New Farm and CBD
After making a name for themselves in New Farm, this traditional French bakery and patisserie opened a second outlet on Edward Street to the cheers of city workers and dwellers. It would be hard to find a more authentic croissant in town, with the team at Choquette making all their baked goodies from scratch, and with a whole lot of French love. J’adore is an understatement.
