October is the magical month at the end of the year when it’s appropriate to don dress-ups twice (thank you, Halloween), drink from steins bigger than your head, and eat as many pretzels and bratwursts as possible all in the name of Oktoberfest.
While things are a little dialled down this year, we still encourage you to dust off your dirndl and starch your long white socks, because we’ve rounded up the best places to get German with it this Oktober.

It’s OStoberfest time, you guys!
On Saturday, October 10 from 11.30 am, the Osbourne Hotel is holding an event full of beer, pretzels, and ALL the German tings. Taking over the Biergarten all day and into the night, OStoberfest will feature traditional German music, German bier served in whopping steins, and the kitchen serving up German classics like veal schnitzels, bratwurst, sauerkraut, and more. Getting the ball rolling nice and early this year, Sealegs Brewing Co is running some exciting Oktoberfest specials until Sunday, September 27. Enjoy beers (duh!), schnitzels, pretzels, and other German treats, as the staff look after you dressed to the neins in their German ‘fits.
With two new beers specially brewed for the occasion and available by the litre stein, we have a feeling we might be sea-legless after this one…

The iconic Brisbane German Club will have its doors firmly open for Oktoberfest celebrations, with dozens and dozens of German bier on tap, a menu of traditional eats, and THAT famous pork knuckle.
THE BAVARIAN | VARIOUS LOCATIONS
Giving Brisbanites a taste of Germany at locations across the city, we love this spot for its perfectly golden schnitties, burgers, and crispy pork bellies.
