August bucket list

You know what August means: the downhill slope of 2019... Someone get us a vino, stat!

If the thought of us being eight months into the year gives you all the back chills, then we know exactly what you need; a month jam-packed with regional food festivals, new venues to check out and wine dinners aplenty.

So, don’t stress! We’ve curated the perfect August itinerary so you can have at least your social life sorted.

Urban Wine Walk | Brisbane

Cardio whilst you sip pinot? You’re speakin’ our language. The Urban Wine Walk might just be the kind of exercise we’ve been missing, with a self-guided wine trail of Brisbane taking you to 35 complimentary tastings throughout our great city. Needs no more explanation, right? Walk on over here to get your tickets now before they run out!

Regatta Winter Woodlands | The Regatta Hotel | Toowong

Still wanting to lead yourself into a false sense of winter? Yeah, us too. Thankfully the Regatta is bringing just this to Brisbanites in spades with their cosy Winter Woodlands event set to fulfil all of your wintery dreams. Snuggle into one of their cosy booths and enjoy a winter package complete with an epic platter and your choice of warming winter cocktail. Or, if Sundays are more your vibe, then it has to be their bottomless brunch, because the only thing better than brunch is when it’s boozy, right? Fire up the group chat and get booking here

Ivory Tusk | Fortitude Valley

Everyone froths a new venue opening and Ivory Tusk is the latest in Brisbane that’s getting us a bit hot under the collar. With tropical vibes aplenty, think party-in-Palm Springs with scrumptious eats, tasty libations and hip-swaying bangers sure to keep you dancing all night long. Ivory Tusk has thought of it all by offering Mexican-inspired fare where you party, and solving those lengthy drink queues with an array of premium on-tap cocktails.

Ekka | RNA Showgrounds | Bowen Hills

It’s Ekka time again people! If you’re less thrill seeker and more chill eater, we’ve made the ultimate Ekka foodie list for you to make sure you don’t miss an eat. Enjoy all of the crowd favourites like the iconic strawberry sundae, get a little ~fancy~ at the Gourmet Plaza and, of course, pay a visit to the Woolworths Fresh Food Pavilion which boasts more free samples than you can poke a Dagwood Dog at. Check out the foodie goodness here.

The Curated Plate | Sunshine Coast

It’s time to travel out of the big smoke and eat your way through the best fare regional Queensland has to offer at The Curated Plate festival on the Sunshine Coast. From August 5 to 18 there will be over fifty events for you to sink your teeth into, in celebration of all things regional flavours. To make sure you don’t miss one of the amazing events, we’ve set you up with the ultimate bucket list which you can have a squiz at here.

Chivas Regal’s The Blend Whisky Masterclass | Cloudland | Fortitude Valley

Because it’s always fun to learn a new skill, make August the month you learn all about blending the perfect whisky. Chivas Regal is one of the best in the biz and they’re taking over Cloudland on August 15 to walk you through creating a unique blended whisky, and of course, you’ll get to sip a superbly made cocktail with your new favourite tipple, ready for you to whisky out at every social event. Party trick, anyone? Book your tickets here.

Armakeggon Craft Beer Fest | Archive Beer Boutique | West End

Get sippy with over 40 different beer variations and learn what all the froth about craft beer is about, with beer-themed games, giveaways and live entertainment all day long.

American Express Openair Cinema | CBD

Settling into a lush new venue this year at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens, with new foodie offering Pizza Queensland Bros, it’s time to grab your favourite two-legged and four-legged friends and get your tickets here until they roll credits on August 18.

Brisbane Burger Fest | The Triffid | Newstead
