Suburban Foodies: Morningside

You don’t have to be a morning person to love this inner-south dining hot-spot.

Morningside is fast becoming a foodie heaven, thanks to its eclectic and homey range of delicious eateries. This suburb has you covered with everything from your new local Indian to arguably the best pastries in all of Brisbane…

Monocle | Thynne Road

Mornings have never been so sweet. The newly opened Monocle Coffee is turning heads and stealing focus, with their game-changing coffee, baked goods and freshly-made salads. All goodies are available to eat in or take away, so why not grab a vibrant salad and head to one of the many parks in the Morningside area?

Curryville | Thynne Road

Okay, Brisbane. We know you probably have your favourite local that you’ve been loyal to for years. But trust us… Curryville will change your mind. Forever reliable and down-to-earth, Curryville is one of the best in the business. Boasting what they believe is Brisbane’s best tikka masala, their recipe has over 72 spice variations. If you’re game, Curryville also claims to serve Australia’s hottest curry–say hi to their famous Chicken Hai Hai. Ouch.

Wing Fix | Wynnum Road

The day this popular food truck and market stall opened an official store in Morningside was one of the best days of our lives. Wing Fix is renowned for their fried chicken, gourmet burgers, fries, and, of course, wings. They’re dishing up the most amazing wing flavours you’ve never heard of, including garlic parmesan, Korean honey-soy and the classic buffalo. Still hungry? We certainly won’t chicken out of their truffle and grass-fed Angus cheeseburger.

Feast on Fruit | Morningside Central

This local institution has been proudly serving the people of Morningside and beyond for over 20 years. Owned and run by four passionate cousins, Feast on Fruit is committed to delivering fresh fruit and veg, pre-made meals and salads, meats, cheeses and gourmet deli goods and more to their loyal patrons. Feast on their award-winning produce and you’ll see just what the fuss is about.

Flour and Chocolate| Wynnum Road

If you haven’t heard of Flour and Chocolate, we genuinely feel sorry for you. This patisserie has won almost every award in the book and has a cult-like following across the south-east, and it’s not hard to see why. Their savoury goodies include sausage rolls, freshly-made sandwiches, scrolls and focaccia, but they crank it up further with their sweets–we’re taking donuts and cronuts that make us go nuts, cakes, tarts and so, so much more. You’ll want to get in early–this joint is crazy popular, and once everything’s sold out, they’re done for the day.

The Dandelion Social | Wynnum Road

A spot that’s open breakfast, lunch and dinner automatically gets a tick from us. The Dandelion Social is the Irish-inspired eatery you didn’t know you needed, serving up classic comfort food with plenty of indoor and al-fresco seating. Count us in for their full Irish breakfast, braised beef baguette for lunch, and a classic Sunday roast for dinner–washed down with a Guinness, of course.

Morningside is the south-east suburb dishing up delicious food morning, noon and night.
