Brisbane’s best shopping centre restaurants

When it comes to combining your Kmart and food addiction into one, we’re here to help.

As much as we love lying on a couch and staring at the ceiling, sometimes the therapy we really need is the retail type  – and that includes chucking a few food court gems in the bag.

Therefore, the G&G has put together a comprehensive list of the best restaurants hidden in Brisbane’s local shopping centres!

Don’t chuck out your couch just yet, though (you’re gonna need that for the food coma later).

New Shanghai | Queens Plaza

If you catch a friend talking trash about shopping centre dining, take them to the dumps (the delicious dumplings, that is!) at New Shanghai to change their minds! Located inside Queens Plaza, New Shanghai reigns as champs of the xiao long bao, which is served alongside their signature rainbow beef.

Devon Café | Westfield Garden City

A diamond in the Garbo is Devon Café, a beautiful contemporary brunch spot for local southsiders and exhausted shoppers alike. Just as diverse as its surroundings is this café’s divine menu, which sports everything from French croissants filled with black caviar to Hawaiian poke bowls, and a number of Japanese-inspired dishes (omu-rice, anyone?).

The Kitchens | Robina Town Centre

If you can’t handle the Aussie heat, get into The Kitchens at Robina’s Town Centre. Blessed air-con aside, The Kitchens’ sixty dining options make it the opportune place for parents that need the kids to chew off something other than their ears, as well as relaxed shoppers dropping in for gourmet bites.

PappaRich | Wintergarden

No matter the state of your wallet, you’ll always feel PappaRich at this Wintergarden staple. Boasting Malaysian coffee shop delights like classic nasi lemak alongside spicy roti canai, this Pappa is also popping off with a whole host of delicious noodle dishes just waiting to be discovered.

Hakataya Ramen | Various Locations

Due to its location in basically every shopping centre in Brisbane, we thank Hakataya every day for ensuring we never have to run far for ramen. To top it off, Hakataya offers a number of delicious toppings for their noodles, including charsiu, spicy miso, and even takana (Japanese pickles).

Stanton | Queens Plaza

The Plaza of…well, Brisbane plazas is the Queens Plaza’s Stanton Café & Bar, where luxurious food offerings are made accessible to casual shoppers and the occasional passer-by. Elevated above the rest (literally – it overlooks the rest of Queen Street Mall), Stanton boasts delicious creations from every cuisine, including Italian pancetta pizza, Australian slow-roasted lamb shoulder, and gourmet tikka masala meat pies.

Betty’s Burgers | Westfield Chermside

When it comes to the good ol’ food court burg’, you can’t get better than Betty’s, and rumour has it that the Chermside eatery is the best of them all! We suggest flexing your tastebuds on this burger joint’s delectable Betty’s Deluxe with Angus beef and special sauce, which goes perfectly with a side of shaken sea salt fries.

Landmark Yum Cha | Sunnybank Plaza

Shopping trolleys or trolleys of food… why not both! Once you’ve finished buying and bargaining the morning away in Sunnybank Plaza, make one last stop at this landmark restaurant, where the food comes hot and fast, from steaming sticky rice to super sweet custard tarts.

Enough talking shop, Brisbane – let’s eat.
